More Mannequin Work

I want to keep this post short and snappy because I am very close to constructing my final garment!! Nonetheless, I have created even more stand work experimentations post my illustrations and samples, just so that I can really make sure that it is what I want to do and pursue as my final piece, which I now already have in mind. The stand work was pretty simple considering I already had the designs in front of me, but I really wanted to exhaust my illustrations further and get a more 3-D visual perspective of my work before I begin to construct. Needless to say, stand work is very crucial for anyone who wants to consider design because working in 2-D constantly will practically get you no where and the designer will never have the designs to their full potential if they don't take the time to experiment with real forms on the mannequin. Below are some examples I did.

Overall, this process has helped me to finally decide on the final outcome for this project and I am thrilled with excitement to see the results. Towards the end of this project, I now feel more comfortable and confident with what I am doing because I feel as if I really understand what I want to achieve and how I can really push myself to the full limit to get the grade/good feedback I want to receive. Plus, I am also much happier that I haven't gone for the unoriginal 'all denim' because practically everyone seems as if they have done that in class, however I am the only one who has actually pushed the boundary and used something unexpected in my opinion and for that I am proud of the originality and humour of this project because it shows that I can work independently and not worry about what everyone else is doing with their garments.
