Lost Faces ft. My Prints

(Sketchbook page produced by Myself)

As you can see, I have done a really quick collage using magazine cut outs I found and the prints that I have recently produced to combine with them. I thought this would be an interesting process as I wanted it to send a message; I wanted it to suggest that the person is still there visibly, although they're losing themselves from the inside and this is how I imagine that they would look if it was shown from the outside. Not only this, but I also wanted to position my print in the area where the brain would be because I thought that some of my prints were unintentionally rather similar to brain scan images, hence my prints represent the mind and all of its thoughts and memories. This quick process I used may come in handy for future reference, for example the way some of the faces are shaped once torn or perhaps even the remains of the rips to refer to fabrications such as cottons, mesh and organzas.

Overall, this had kept me even more open minded in terms of shape, structure and the message that I want to put across for my Final Major Project (FMP). If I could have done anything differently, it would have been to have perhaps created more of these but in much more detail, but as I know I probably won't be using this exact same process again, I will take it as a learning experience and see as to whether it may inspire me for another process or medium to work with. I am really hoping to start constructing my print samples soon and working them either on photoshop or a mannequin to make my work 3-D and out of my sketchbook as we are drawing closer into my experimental stage of the project.
