In development to my research I wanted to create my own original style of Gerhard Richter's paintings and I did this by using a multiply variety of pens from sharpies to pro markers, letrasets, highlighters and many more. I think this worked very well as you can see the journey of my pen strokes, similar to his work but with paint strokes. In addition, I wanted to make my creation a lot more brighter in contrast to Richter's paintings as I feel that they have a lot more emotion to them, whereas I am trying to bring the fun out of childhood memories and corner shop sweets. I want to make some designs from the pen drawing I made, however I think that it could also look good blown up on a stand to show shape and structure of potential designs.
I am very excited to start making out of book samples now to really make a head start on materialisation and structure. I am still not sure as to whether it will be a garment or accessory because I feel that I may not have enough time due to all my portfolio preparation going on for interviews. Despite this, I will still try put 100% effort into this project and make sure that is fully complete before my assessment coming up fairly soon. I think that it would be interesting to make a shoot post making my final outcome to finalise the shoot even further but again, that all depends on how much time I will have to complete everything.
If I could have done anything differently to the examples I made below, it would have probably been to expand on scale, colour and perhaps even the orientation of which I am pulling the pen from a certain direction which could have added another perspective. Nonetheless, I am happy with how these came out and I would like to experiment with these further and see whether I will take anything from them and use/inspire me for the final outcome.
